Artworking:

  • Files should be delivered in ai / eps or psd / tiff formats at 300dpi. Files must be supplied in colour separated layers with trapping included. Fonts and strokes must be converted to outlines.

  • Yes! We offer an artworking service charged at £30 per hour (charged at 15 minute increments). We usually find this is most successful and quickest way to achieve the best prints.

  • Yes we do. Make Good is run by graduates in Graphic Design and Fashion & Textiles. We love to get involved in the design process so please don’t hesitate to ask. Our fee will vary on the job specifics.

Inks:

  • We print exclusively with environmentally friendly, water based inks in both our fabric and paper based projects. Predominantly we print with Permaset inks which are free of harmful solvents and chemicals. We can offer a variety of print finishes including high-gloss, metallic and fluorescents.

  • Permaset are the world’s most sustainable inks. They do not contain ozone-depleting chemicals such as CFCs, HCFCs, aromatic hydrocarbons or volatile solvents.

They are vegan - containing no ingredients sourced from animals or being tested on animals. The ingredients that are sourced from plants are certified GMO free.

The textile range passed the Oekotex Class 1 standard with 60% to spare and are safe to use on underwear, swimwear and even baby clothes. They are also certified organic with the Soil Association in the UK, having successfully met the requirement of the Global Organic Textiles Standards (GOTS) for non-organic chemical inputs for use in organic textile processing.

  • Our colour matching is done manually using Pantone references. We take our time to ensure we’re as accurate as possible but please be aware some variation may occur due to the nature of the process.

Substrates:

  • Our house papers are Mohawk Everyday in 270gsm (a recycled stock) and Naturalis Absolute in 330gsm.

We can source a variety of other papers at the client’s request.

  • Our standard T-shirt stock is Gildan Heavy or Softstyle. Our premium T-shirt stock is Stanley Stella or Continental Clothing.

We can source a variety of other T-shirts at the client’s request and have accounts with many stockists including AS Colour, Blanks Factory and No Sweat.

  • Yes we can! We can print posters, business cards, T-Shirts, record sleeves, tote bags, lengths of fabric, wooden signage, vests, sweatshirts, wedding invitations, book covers and cardboard packaging. In fact, if it’s a flat surface we’ll be happy to try printing on it.

  • Of course. If you would rather supply your own paper / garments we’re happy to accommodate this. In this instance we ask that you supply more than you need - some wastage should be expected with any print run for which we require a contingency.

  • For paper we can print any size and dimension up to A1 - 841 x 594mm. Artwork must have a minimum of 15mm border. If you would like your print to be full bleed please order a paper size up so we can add crop marks to your artwork.

Production:

  • We usually aim for a 10-12 day turnaround, plus a delivery or collection allowance. This may vary based on your project and at particularly busy or quite times. If you require our help urgently please let us know and we may be able to expedite the process.

  • Our minimum order for T-Shirts & Tote bags is 20 units. Our minimum order for paper based prints is 10 units. Any less than this and the economics don’t work!

  • The maximum amount of colours we can print onto fabric is 8 (we use an 8-colour carousel). Theoretically we can print any amount of layers onto paper, although we would advise if your artwork is over 7 layers the turnaround time for your project is likely to be extended.

  • Unfortunately we cannot offer a sample service. We have a gallery of previous print jobs which demonstrate the finish you can expect, as well as a sample rail at our studio for customers to peruse.

  • Yes you can. If you would like to change the colour of your artwork midway through a job we will charge a £15 washout and re-set fee.

Payment & Postage:

  • We require a 50% upfront payment on all print jobs. The remainder of the balance must be paid upon completion. All work remains the property of Make Good until full payment is received.

We accept BACs, card payment via Swift or PayPal. Invoices will be provided for all transactions.

  • At the moment no. We work with many idependant artists who are not VAT registered and keeping VAT off our prices makes us more affordable. However this may change so please keep an eye on your invoice.

  • Our standard prices are a useful starting point. If your requirements are not covered in the tables please contact us using the email provided and we will get back to you with a bespoke costing.

  • If you live within a reasonable proximity to our studio we ask that you collect your orders. For all other instances we will use DPD or UPS for delivery. You order will be packed appropriately and delivery costs vary depending on the product and location.
